Recapitulation ~ Questions and Answers p. 465:8-10 (2)
What is God?

	Question. — What is God?
9 Answer. — God is incorporeal, divine, supreme, infinite
Mind, Spirit, Soul, Principle, Life, Truth, Love.

Science of Being ~ Spiritual thoughts p. 286:21 (2) 21 God's thoughts are perfect and eternal, are substance and Life. Material and temporal thoughts are human, involving error, and since God, Spirit, is the 24 only cause, they lack a divine cause. The temporal and material are not then creations of Spirit. They are but counterfeits of the spiritual and eternal. 27 Transitory thoughts are the antipodes of everlasting Truth, though (by the supposition of opposite qualities) error must also say, "I am true." But by this saying 30 error, the lie, destroys itself.

Exodus 4 (1) 2 And the LORD said to him, What [is] that in thy hand? And he said, A rod. 3 And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent: and Moses fled from before it. 4 And the LORD said to Moses, Put forth thy hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:

Christian Science Practice p. 424:5-11 (2) Accidents unknown to God Accidents are unknown to God, or immortal Mind, 6 and we must leave the mortal basis of belief and unite with the one Mind, in order to change the notion of chance to the proper sense 9 of God's unerring direction and thus bring out harmony. Under divine Providence there can be no accidents, since there is no room for imperfection in perfection.
Teaching Christian Science p. 451:31-6 (2)
Indispensable defence
Show your student that mental malpractice tends to
blast moral sense, health, and the human life. Instruct
1	him how to bar the door of his thought against this
seeming power, — a task not difficult, when one under-
3	stands that evil has in reality no power.
Incorrect reasoning leads to practical error.
The wrong thought should be arrested before it has a
   6 chance to manifest itself.

Physiology p. 192:17-26 (2) The one real power Moral and spiritual might belong to Spirit, who holds 18 the "wind in His fists;" and this teaching accords with Science and harmony. In Science, you can have no power opposed to God, and the physi- 21 cal senses must give up their false testimony. Your in- fluence for good depends upon the weight you throw into the right scale. The good you do and embody gives you 24 the only power obtainable. Evil is not power. It is a mockery of strength, which erelong betrays its weakness and falls, never to rise.

Science, Theology, Medicine ~ Science p. 114:1-22 (2) Definition of mortal mind 1 Usage classes both evil and good together as mind; therefore, to be understood, the author calls sick and sin- 3 ful humanity mortal mind, — meaning by this term the flesh opposed to Spirit, the human mind and evil in contradistinction to the divine Mind, or 6 Truth and good. The spiritually unscientific definition of mind is based on the evidence of the physical senses, which makes minds many and calls mind both human and 9 divine. In Science, Mind is one, including noumenon and phe- nomena, God and His thoughts. Imperfect terminology 12 Mortal mind is a solecism in language, and involves an improper use of the word mind. As Mind is immortal, the phrase mortal mind implies something un- 15 true and therefore unreal; and as the phrase is used in teaching Christian Science, it is meant to designate that which has no real existence. Indeed, if 18 a better word or phrase could be suggested, it would be used; but in expressing the new tongue we must sometimes recur to the old and imperfect, and the new 21 wine of the Spirit has to be poured into the old bottles of the letter.

The Apocalypse p. 576:26 to 577:31 (2) Divine sense of Deity The term Lord, as used in our version of the Old 27 Testament, is often synonymous with Jehovah, and ex- presses the Jewish concept, not yet elevated to deific apprehension through spiritual trans- 30 figuration. Yet the word gradually approaches a higher meaning. This human sense of Deity yields to the divine 1 sense, even as the material sense of personality yields to the incorporeal sense of God and man as the infinite 3 Principle and infinite idea, — as one Father with His uni- versal family, held in the gospel of Love. The Lamb's wife presents the unity of male and female as no longer 6 two wedded individuals, but as two individual natures in one; and this compounded spiritual individuality re- flects God as Father-Mother, not as a corporeal being. 9 In this divinely united spiritual consciousness, there is no impediment to eternal bliss, — to the perfectibility of God's creation. The city of our God 12 This spiritual, holy habitation has no boundary nor limit, but its four cardinal points are: first, the Word of Life, Truth, and Love; second, 15 the Christ, the spiritual idea of God; third, Christianity, which is the outcome of the divine Prin- ciple of the Christ-idea in Christian history; fourth, 18 Christian Science, which to-day and forever interprets this great example and the great Exemplar. This city of our God has no need of sun or satellite, for Love 21 is the light of it, and divine Mind is its own interpreter. All who are saved must walk in this light. Mighty potentates and dynasties will lay down their honors 24 within the heavenly city. Its gates open towards light and glory both within and without, for all is good, and nothing can enter that city, which "defileth, . . . or 27 maketh a lie." The writer's present feeble sense of Christian Science closes with St. John's Revelation as recorded by the 30 great apostle, for his vision is the acme of this Science as the Bible reveals it.

Science, Theology, Medicine ~ Science p. 113:9-21 (2) Reversible proposition 9 The fundamental propositions of divine metaphysics are summarized in the four following, to me, self-evident propositions. Even if reversed, these proposi- 12 tions will be found to agree in statement and proof, showing mathematically their exact relation to Truth. De Quincey says mathematics has not a foot to 15 stand upon which is not purely metaphysical. 1. God is All-in-all. 2. God is good. Good is Mind. 18 3. God, Spirit, being all, nothing is matter. 4. Life, God, omnipotent good, deny death, evil, sin, disease. — Disease, sin, evil, death, deny good, omnipo- 21 tent God, Life.

Glossary p. 587:5-8 (2) GOD. The great I AM; the all-knowing, all-seeing, 6 all-acting, all-wise, all-loving, and eternal; Principle; Mind; Soul; Spirit; Life; Truth; Love; all substance; intelligence.

Christian Science versus Spiritualism p. 70:1-11 (2) The infinite one Spirit 1 Mortal existence is an enigma. Every day is a mystery. The testimony of the corporeal senses 3 cannot inform us what is real and what is delusive, but the revelations of Christian Science unlock the treasures of Truth. Whatever is false or sinful can 6 never enter the atmosphere of Spirit. There is but one Spirit. Man is never God, but spiritual man, made in God's likeness, reflects God. In this scientific 9 reflection the Ego and the Father are inseparable. The supposition that corporeal beings are spirits, or that there are good and evil spirits, is a mistake.
