Is America a place or is it a State of Consciousness?
When seen in its spiritual connotation it must obviously be the latter. Thus no one has to come to America but needs only to realize the reality of government under God, no matter where they are located. America is a symbol for freedom and freedom is with God, this is everywhere present, active and complete.
America was founded on the law of God, Principle (seen at the highest level of understanding of that day),that can evolve, but never change, for that is what America is, a symbol for the law and government of God. A government of laws and not people. A symbol can be translated to its basic idea (God, Principle) a thing, a place cannot. We today are presented via the media all the age-old pictures of 'good and evil'. Divine Science operating at the level of Christian Science corrects this misconception with the one value system – God good is All-in-all of which there is no other. Only as we individually see this point can we dehypnotize the situation, disconnect from the mortal picture. Then we will see and demonstrate here and now heaven, harmony – all things working together for good – thus we have a unified field, the 'Unity of Good'.

8. True Estimate of God’s Messenger
Heaven represents harmony, and divine Science interprets the Principle of heavenly harmony. The great miracle, to human sense, is divine Love, and the grand necessity of existence is to gain the true idea of what constitutes the kingdom of heaven in man. This goal is never reached while we hate our neighbor or entertain a false estimate of anyone whom God has appointed to voice His Word. Again, without a correct sense of its highest visible idea, we can never understand the divine Principle. The botanist must know the genus and species of a plant in order to classify it correctly. 10. Prayerful Ingratitude
The Divine Being must be reflected by man, — else man is not the image and likeness of
the patient, tender, and true, the One "altogether lovely;" but to understand God is the work of eternity, and demands absolute consecration of thought, energy, and desire. Science & Health Pg 3
11. Cannot Give Information to Mind
How empty are our conceptions of Deity! We admit theoretically that God is good, omnipotent, omnipresent, infinite, and then we try to give information to this infinite Mind. We plead for unmerited pardon and for a liberal outpouring of benefactions. Are we really grateful for the good already received? Then we shall avail ourselves of the blessings we have, and thus be fitted to receive more. Science & Health Pg 3

12. Gratitude Requires Action
Gratitude is much more than a verbal expression of thanks. Action expresses more gratitude than speech. If we are ungrateful for Life, Truth, and Love, and yet return thanks to God for all blessings, we are insincere and incur the sharp censure our Master pronounces on hypocrites. In such a case, the only acceptable prayer is to put the finger on the lips and remember our blessings. While the heart is far from divine Truth and Love, we cannot conceal the ingratitude of barren lives.

13. Efficacious Petitions
What we most need is the prayer of fervent desire for growth in grace, expressed in patience, meekness, love, and good deeds. To keep the commandments of our Master and follow his example, is our proper debt to him and the only worthy evidence of our gratitude for all that he has done. Outward worship is not of itself sufficient to express loyal and heartfelt gratitude, since he has said: "If ye love me, keep my commandments."

16. Religious Freedom only in America
Without the Constitution and Bill of Rights there would have been no place on this planet where Christian Science could have gained a foothold. Until America was prepared, and our Bill of Rights guaranteed religious freedom, there was no nation that would have protected Mary Baker Eddy and enabled her to found Christian Science in human consciousness.
