INTRODUCTION ~ The introduction for the beautiful spiritual analysis of the Bible centers on the Days of Creation and is quoted from chapter one which is this same title - The Days of Creation.

I should like to tell you the story of Genesis as I have found it, because it is attractive, because it is intelligently serious, and because it concerns everyone. 
By the story of Genesis I mean in this instance that short, positive part contained in the first chapter and a few verses of the second chapter, and which is generally referred to as the record or story of the Creation. 
Before I began to consider the narrative, there were several things I had to learn and many admissions I had to make, as anyone will discover. For instance, it is necessary to admit that one is interested, and that the basis for this interest is largely that the Bible starts with this story and the Bible is the Book of Life, or, shall we say, the textbook of Life; as such a textbook, it must define to us the purpose of our own life, which is naturally very important to each one of us individually.

55 Pgs ~ THE SIXTH DAY ~ Man Expresses Truth ~ Now we move on to our next day  symbol which, in the way that we are travelling, is the sixth day. This day we accepted as having the overtone of Truth, because it is chiefly to do with the creation of man himself, and man would appear to embody the activity of Truth more than anything else. 
The only thing that man is seeking is truth. Men strive unceasingly until they arrive at truth, be they engineers or archi- tects, builders or bakers. At work or at play, men, women, and children are always striving to find, form, or express the true model, the nearest thing to truth that they can attain. 
The athlete, the mother in her home, the youth preparing for his examinations, the professional man, the business man, the factory worker, the artist, and the man of science-all of them seek truth and how to pattern or express it as nearly as it is possible to express it in their particular field of activity. 
So the key-word for this sixth day is Truth, and how natural that is, for I cannot think of a single man, woman, or child whom I have met who has not revealed some new idea of truth to me somewhere along the line of our acquaintance. You can always learn some new truth, or something new about an old and well- established truth, if you listen to man-not necessarily to his words, but to his life, his yearnings, and his findings. 
Man knows more about truth than sometimes he cares to know, for the amount of his knowing makes him terribly uneasy if he wanders off its path. In fact, truth and man are synonymous, and so this sixth day symbol, in describing the creation of man, is simply in our more modern terminology describing the truth of Truth.   -- Please click title or description to view or download this complete text
25 Pgs ~ THE FIFTH DAY ~ We pass now to the fifth day symbol, whose overall purpose is  to describe that which we come to see as embraced in the great term Life. 
Too often people accept the term "life" as to do with its physical manifestation alone and seldom realize that that whole apparent physical manifestation is governed by a life which has no physical quality whatever. But if anyone comes to consider this non-physical aspect, he is bound to be led to the conclusion that it is the only true side to life and that what he before termed the physical manifestation is nothing more nor less than a limited and temporary expression of it. The physical appearance is not actual life any more than the numbers appearing on the paper or black- board are of themselves arithmetic. 
As long as we need human means of expression in any activity, those means of expression are wholly subjective to the ideas involved in it. And so the term "life" can only be properly applied to that presence of character-expression which will be found to evolve, animate, and govern the temporary means of manifesting that expression on earth,-in this case the human body.   -- Please click title or description to view or download this complete text
27 Pgs ~ THE FOURTH DAY ~ We arrive now at the fourth day symbol, and we begin by  accepting it in the spirit of pliability and obedience implied as requisite by the constant use of that word "Let" in tins first chapter of Genesis. Then, having accepted it, the term Principle is soon seen to be the only term which could possibly embrace the great range of ideas covered by the fivefold description of this fourth day. 
Here we are told about the sun, the moon, and the stars, the vast celestial system, and how this system operates to give light to men. Wherever a system that enlightens men is revealed, one is immediately made aware of the principle which evolves and controls it. In studying music or mathematics, with all their respective rules and methods of application, or in fact any other system of ideas, the one alnlost indefinable yet ever-present fact is that of a principle at the back of all the system and its ordered activity; and this becomes more and more apparent as the process of enlightenment or learning goes on.   -- Please click title or description to view or download this complete text
30 Pgs ~ THE THIRD DAY ~ Soul versus the Senses ~ When we come to the third day,  we remember that its main theme is the description of qualities of thought which to-day we best symbolize by the term Soul. The outstanding feature of this third day is the command, "let the dry land appear"; and our experience in life soon teaches us that in order to exchange the uncertainties of sense-bound thinking for the solid "dry land" of absolute conviction, we have to resort to that higher plane of reasoning embraced in the proper meaning of the word Soul. 
Reflection will confirm that wherever we have seen sense or sensualism controlling men's thinking, we have seen all the vagueness and uncertainty that goes with it. A sensualist in any interpretation of the word is one who is weakened in his convic- tions because he is at the mercy of the tides of all other sensual opinion, the constant fluctuations of mortality; his are the watery and diluted thought-processes of those who have not yet identified themselves with some aspect oft he one Principle through practising a rebuke to, and removal from, the sensual influences. 
On the other hand, he who has to some extent silenced the lackadaisical ways of sensual thinking and sought principle- governed processes with which to identify himself, finds that in proportion as he conforms to their standards he becomes not only more certain of himself but also of the purposes of good and their ultimate ascendancy in human affairs.   -- Please click title or description to view or download this complete text
24 Pgs ~ THE SECOND DAY ~ We come now to the second day of this Genesis story, which  we know to define that aspect of Deity which is best termed Spirit. 
One of the most remarkable things on earth is that men have- been fooled so long about the spiritual. To mention Spirit or the spiritual conjures up pictures which frighten them into an awed silence and usually a determination to withdraw from the conver- sation as soon as politeness will allow. 
The Master taught spirituality, yet none of his teachings holds a heavy hand over man. What he taught was not an austere, cold, and rebuking relative, sent to hold horror over a younger generation, but the inspiring, at-your-very-age-where-you-are teaching of how to be naturally happy and healthy, how to live in the realm of a constant flow of ideas rightly deduced from their basic Principle or Source, with all the blessings this must admittedly embrace.   -- Please click title or description to view or download this complete text
25 Pgs ~ THE FIRST DAY ~ As we arrive at the last day symbol of this story,-last, that  is, according to the way we have been travelling, but first in chrono- logical order ,-we come to some of the greatest rules of all those we need to know if we are to enjoy our game of life and play it as it is meant to be played. 
The overtone of this day could not be bettered in its symbolism of Mind, for no better word than Mind could be used to define the great Cause of the activity revealed here, with its tremendous command, "Let there be light." 
To be enlightened on anything, we must think; pure thinking, or true knowing, is accomplished through ideas; and ideas come from that Source for which the only proper term can be Mind when we are considering it in connection with intelligent ideas, just as the proper term is Love if we are thinking of it as the source of ideas of (say) affection.   -- Please click title or description to view or download this complete text
9 Pgs ~ EPILOGUE ~ Now that we have been given some definition of the seven main idea- or  thought-movements which have led us to those seven momentous names for Deity acceptable to to-day's termino- logy,-names which, if contemplated with a sense of the infinitude of their meanings, will forever reveal fresh, invigorating vistas ot the power and presence of our parent Cause,-we can better understand the two verses with which Genesis begins. 
The writers of this Creation story were already aware of the magnitude of what they were about to describe, even when they wrote these opening verses, but we need to have grasped something of the overall picture before we can appreciate their higher meanings in these same verses.   -- Please click title or description to view or download this complete text
