Since my attention has been called  to the article in the May Journal, I think it would have been wiser not to have organized the GENERAL ASSOCIATION FOR DISPENSING CHRISTIAN SCIENCE LITERATURE.

My Dear Friend H.:  — Your good letter of the 26th ult. came duly to hand several days ago, and I am not greatly surprised at its contents. You say, in substance, that you procured the book, 'Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures,' which I recommended, and that to your surprise and disgust you found it to be a work on faith-cure, and ask by what process of reasoning I could possibly bring myself to adopt or accept such visionary theories. The place you seek is seeking you; the place you need needs you. Divine  Principle brings need and supply together for mutual good. He wisely, intelligently and lovingly controls, guides, protects, prospers and blesses this union of His idea (man), and this normal joyous activity (work).

"The nature and position of mortal mind are the opposite of immortal Mind. The  so-called mortal mind is belief and not understanding. Christian Science requires understanding instead of belief; it is based on a fixed eternal and divine Principle,
wholly apart from mortal conjecture; and it must be understood, otherwise it cannot be correctly accepted and demonstrated."

I have learned a great secret. I have learned how to demonstrate, I have  learned how to make Science a thing of life, not of words. I am going to tell you what the secret is, and it is wonderful.
It is this: Not to see or hear or repeat any kind of imperfection.
