Clarence Steves ~ Biography

CLARENCE STEVES was a Christian Science teacher from 1948 through 1962. He served in the Navy in World War I, was severely wounded and spent a number of years in a Veterans Hospital. There a hospital nurse offered him a copy of Science and Health. He devoured it. The truth that awakened him was from page 228: 3-6, “ . . . that nothing inharmonious can enter being, for Life is God.”  His healing was complete.

Following this, he took up the study of Christian Science, had Primary Class with Judge Clifford P. Smith, and entered the full time practice. He was a member of the Normal Class of 1946, and became a teacher. His wife was also a Journal listed practitioner, and they taught and practiced in Washington D.C. He was most fondly remembered  for his lack of personal  sense, which enabled him to state the Truth so clearly.  Absence of personal sense is a main theme expressed throughout his addresses and he himself was a living example of what he taught.
