1. The Overwhelming Evidence ~ Concerning Spiritual Healings Through Mary Baker Eddy--- Please SCROLL or CLICK to GO NOW
"The author and compiler of this book, a retired civil and sales engineer and not a member of any church, was exceedingly skeptical when he first investigated the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, and was quite sure that many of her statements were ridiculous nonsense. Later, one of those “ridiculous” statements came into focus with a clear, self-evident meaning, a meaning higher than the surface meaning, and he was amazed at the simple yet profound spiritual idea and its far reaching implications. He knew that he had found a touch of the spirit of God, and that it was this spirit which had inspired Mrs. Eddy’s writings and also the books of the Bible. Many statements by Mrs. Eddy, however, continued to be impossible to believe, yet, subsequently the spiritual meaning usually would unfold and be understood. Thus, our ordinary human mind does not grasp the things of God. But our latent spiritual ........ sense does. The author had the rare privilege of being closely associated for many years with Gilbert C. Carpenter, C. S. B., who served Mrs. Eddy as an assistant secretary at her Pleasant View home in Concord, New Hampshire, during the year 1905. Mr. Carpenter devoted over fifty years to the practice of spiritual healing after leaving Mrs. Eddy’s home, healing a great many incurable cases, so-called. The writer frequently played billiards at his home. On some of these occasions Mr. Carpenter would be so ill that he could hardly get around the table to make his shots. Yet, during many of those times, as the game progressed, he would be playing very vigorously, as though he were twenty years younger. The writer could feel the whole mental atmosphere change, as though this great Christian warrior had again found his God and had renewed his strength and his spiritual well-being." (pp. 6-7)Show all

Her healing from pain and paralysis caused a great deal of amazement among her friends. She realized only dimly at the time how it was accomplished, but she immediately dedicated her life to a thorough understanding of what had happened, and how to transmit that understanding to others. -- Please click title or this description to view or download complete publication |
