Alice Lucile Cartwright Orgain was a student of Christian Science in New York City when Mary Baker Eddy was founding Christian Science on this planet. Mrs. Orgain was a practitioner listed in the Christian Science Journal and devoting her every moment to the study and practice of Christian Science.
Mrs. Orgain acquired each new edition of Science and Health as it was published. She may have been the one responsible for the republication of the first, second, third, and sixth editions of Science and Health by the Rare Book Company in New York City.
