The four fundamental propositions analyzed # 1 Both the statement and reversal are positive. 2 Both the statement and reversal are positive. 3 The third proposition introduces the incidental or inverted image named matter, the unreal and untrue image of Spirit. The original proposition declares that nothing is matter and its reversal that matter is nothing. 4 The fourth proposition presents two denials, a positive denial whereby good denies all forms of evil and a negative denial whereby all forms of evil appear to deny good. Note that when the negative denial of proposition four is reversed the proposition returns to a positive statement whereby good denies evil. Note how these four propositions are developed in statements made throughout the textbook.
