Christian Science Author David Keyston Biography and Publication Index

David Keyston was raised in Christian Science, but really did not appreciate the fuller understanding of this discovery and its Discoverer, Founder and Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, until reading Paul Smillie’s (pre-publication) book Mary Baker Eddy: The Historical and Prophetic Perspective, in 1984.  This book changed his life, and he left a very successful secular career in commercial office leasing to work with Mr. Smillie for ten years. David set up The Gethsemane Foundation (a 501c3 non-profit) for Mr. Smillie and subsequently did all the publishing for all of Paul’s articles (over a dozen) and his book in hardcover.  

Later, in 1991, David had the opportunity to work with another icon in the arena of independent Christian Science—Helen Wright. He moved to Seattle, WA to help Helen with her publishing efforts and was with her during the publishing and mailing of many articles as well as about 10 of her books. He values his 8-1/2 years with her as he did with Paul Smillie. 

David has worked with virtually every major independent C.S. organization and many individuals during the past 35 years: Aequus Institute, where he headed up the single most successful program to distribute Mary Baker Eddy’s textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. He oversaw the placement of about 200,000 copies in their Hotel Placement Program during a year and a half. He also worked with Aequus in the publishing of many books, notably those by the Carpenter Foundation, the quintessential three-volume biography by Doris Grekel, Selected Addresses of Clarence Steves, C.S.B., as well as the Blue Book and Red Book, amongst many others, all through his 501c3 non-profit, Healing Unlimited. He has also worked with Ann Beals of the Bookmark, Plainfield Christian Science Church, The Christian Science EndTime Center, as well as Rare Book Company and others.  Healing Unlimited purchased Rare Book Company in the mid- 2000s.  He has worked with Andrew Hartsook of The Banner, as well as David James Nolan, better known as the individual who freed Science and Health from a proscriptive, unconstitutional copyright, making it available to any who wished to publish it, as Mrs. Eddy desired. 

David Keyston now continues his work with Healing Unlimited making available about 300 titles and CDs on his website (ChristianScience.org), many of which are either out-of-print books, hard to find originals, as well as even suppressed items by the central church in Boston, MA. Healing Unlimited offers all the books the Carpenters published (about 25+), as well as all the books by Helen Wright, Alice Orgain, Doris Grekel, and many others. He has worked with quite a few major collectors of C.S. rarities. He worked with Myrtle Smyth, C.S., of Belfast, Northern Ireland, to offer all 35 of her inspiring talks to the public as well, on CD. HU also offers the last authorized (1910) edition of Science and Health as well as the 88th edition of the Church Manual.
