It discusses the spiritual qualities needed to become a true Christian as revealed in the lives of the principal Biblical figures, and stresses the application of these qualities in daily living. Intended for either individual or group study, Ten Bible Lessons contain more than enough material for a full year of Sunday School teaching. THIS SECTION includes Bible Lessons compiled by Mary Baker Eddy or a Lesson Committee in which she approved the Lessons.   They consist of selected Bible verses from the King James Version and correlative passages from the Christian Science Textbook, Science & Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.
     COMMONLY, the Bible is studied in an attempt to understand it literally.  However, this is a grave mistaken way to study the Bible.  Even memorizing the letter of the Bible without understanding the Spiritual message is absent the real value available.
     BY STUDYING these historic Bible Lessons, one has an excellent opportunity to approach the intended meaning put forth by the authors of the Bible.
     MARY BAKER EDDY has stated that her inspired spiritual interpretations are only because of God conveying messages to her.  As she states clearly, God was her direct source, sometimes waiting a long time for an answer or even for a message regarding a single word to use in her writings.  Taking no credit for any of her writings, she refers to herself as “a scribe under orders”

When ANY thought occurs to oneself that is NOT 100% God-like, IMMEDIATELY start reciting silently or verbally, depending on your  discretion, any truth or Truth that you know.  One must give 100% attention to what one is reciting and individualize it if needed.

     It does little or no good to recite only words in a routine fashion.  It is by far better to think about what you are saying and elaborate on it as you are reciting.  State it with enthusiam and conviction as if you realize your life depends on it.  Your consciousness is your life as what you think is what you will experience.  The object is to NOT think about people or things or events but the absolute.

Mary Baker Eddy hand-picked a staff to assist her when she was residing at Pleasant View, Concord, NH. Any student  that lived in the home and worked for her in whatever capacity they were assigned had he opportunity to earn the coveted CSD degree and certification.

Mary Baker Eddy selected 39 paragraphs from the Bible and her writings which were required for each student to study at the beginning of each day.

Verna M. Hall, Association Secretary ~ While most of you from personal knowledge have the following information, it is wise  to have in writing the facts concerning our teacher and her work. Mrs. Le Blond became a member of The Mother Church on November 6, 1914. She was a member of Fifth Church, San Francisco, when it met in Native Sons Hall and before the present church edifice was built. In fact, she was president of that Church when the cornerstone was laid. Mrs. Le Blond has served her branch church in almost every capacity, and was a strong advocate of Local Self-government. (Manual Article XXIII, Sect. 1.) When she moved to San Mateo in 1951, she transferred her membership to First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Burlingame.

This quotation from Matthew is an emphatic statement about the method in which Jesus taught the multitudes.  He emphasized  the importance of impersonalizing all of life such that he commonly referred to a man, woman, or child without even using a name.

Jesus would say in a few words what takes pages and pages to relate the possible spiritual meaning.  More often than not, a literal interpretation is applied to much if not all of the Bible, including the Parables of Jesus.  But that is a huge mistake as Jesus himself tells us many times.

Christian Science treatment is the process of addressing human consciousness, primarily one's own, for the purpose of aligning it with  God.  Unless otherwise noted, all treatments are extemporaneous and include direct quotes and/or paraphrases from the Bible, Mary Baker Eddy, and other authors.

Treatment is the word used to indicate that form of prayer which is based upon right thinking, namely, thinking of absolute good. It is actively thinking of the world of reality, or the absolute, called  by the theologians, God and heaven; by scientific men, cause and its manifestation; and by meta­ physicians, Mind and its ideas. It is true communion with God, holy communion, the realisation of which the Church endeavours to bring about by the use of the bread and wine as symbols.

The word treatment therefore signifies the line of demarcation between prayer thus understood and prayer based upon supplication addressed to a distant omnipotent being who, many think, may or may not answer or even hear the cry of the suppliant.
